Baker Canteen

The counter service in the Baker Canteen caters for staff and students throughout the day with card and cash payments accepted (9am - 4pm).

Various sandwiches, salads, traybakes, buns, pastries, seasonal fresh fruit, crisps, snacks, tea/coffee and soft drinks available.

Vending Machines

There are snack and drink vending machines located across the Department (cash/card payments accepted) 

  • Inglis Main Corridor - snacks, hot/cold drinks and sandwiches
  • Baker Canteen - hot drinks
  • Dyson Centre - snacks and cold drinks

Booking Refreshments

Catering can be booked by staff for lunches and meetings in the Department. This includes the following items:

  • Sandwiches, ciabattas, wraps, rolls, baguettes, or quiches can be made to order with a wide range of fillings – just ask.
  • The canteen’s range of traybakes, buns, seasonal fresh fruit, crisps, and other snacks.
  • Orange juice, mineral water, and other soft drinks on request.
  • Tea/coffee and biscuits.

An email must be sent to the Canteen (). It should clearly state the following information about the booking:

  • Date
  • Time
  • Number of people to be catered for
  • Job number
  • Location, if the catering is to be delivered by Canteen staff (otherwise, note that the requestor will collect from Canteen).

One week’s notice should be given when booking lunches, twenty-four hours when booking tea/coffee and biscuits.

If you collect catering from the Canteen, please remember to return everything (trolley, trays, crockery, etc) once the event has finished.

Outside Catering

If you want to order in outside catering for a meeting or event, please ensure that you use a University approved supplier, to ensure that they have been vetted for food safety. Further details can be found here.
